Mivec Owners Group

hi, im from guatemala, and i have a cs3a lancer with a 4g18 engine, and it comes with the f5m41 gearbox, now i race in a national circuit, and i want to know if the 4g92 mivec f5m42-1-y8a fits my car. my stock gearbox has 4.052 final drive, while this f5m42 has a 4.6 final drive, the track is not as fast as the pro´s, but will be more suitable for my car, so, does this gearbox fits my engine??? thank you!!!

It wont bolt upto your 4G18 but a custom bellhousing would work if you have the funds, driveshafts may be a issue aslo but shouldnt be hard to make work, you will probably need a custom top gearbox mount and bottom mounts as the cs3a lancer has quite a different mounting set-up compared with a CA/CJ mirage,

If you can do alot of the work yourself and have the time/money it would be possibly worth doing, but wouldnt it be easier to get a final drive made for your gearbox? Your factory gearbox must be dime a dozen

with all due respect, in malaysia, the proton company has a model which is using the 4g18 engine. the model is called WAJA. or in the UK, it is called IMPIAN. the production from 2000 - 2006. FYI, the f5m421 from mivec is a direct bolt to that engine. No need modification on the gearbox housing whatsoever. the gearbox mount is the same. Drive shafts are also the same (used back the shafts from the WAJA). Just maybe need to do a minor modification on the gearing cable holder (dont know the exact name).. hehehe.. But in your case, the cs3a lancer, i dont have any comment.
